Amotti (Kim Jae‑hong): The Unyielding Athlete & No Sign of Gambling

Early Life & Athletic Foundation

Kim Jae‑hong, known by his athletic moniker Amotti, was born on November 9, 1992, in Daegu, South Korea. He honed his physical strengths at Yeungnam University’s College of Physical Education and served in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps, completing his military service in 2013

CrossFit Excellence & Setbacks

After his discharge, Amotti entered the world of CrossFit. By 2019, he had risen to 6th place in the CrossFit Open and secured 2nd place in the Asia Championship. He also earned international recognition, ranking 24th in the Asian men’s division and 727th globally in 2020.

However, a pivotal moment came in January 2021 when a serious car accident fractured his ankle. The injury forced him off the competition stage, prompting the doctor to doubt his ability to train again. Supported by his mother and driven by determination, Amotti began rehabilitation via YouTube—sharing recovery videos that eventually led to his full return to training.

Journey as a YouTuber

Post-recovery, Amotti transformed into a fitness content creator. Launching his YouTube channel in May 2020, he amassed a substantial following—reaching approximately 300,000 subscribers and garnering tens of millions of views by August 2025. His channel features workout routines, daily life, and motivational content designed to inspire fans worldwide.

Rise to Stardom: ‘Physical: 100’ Champion

Amotti’s breakthrough came with Netflix’s Physical: 100 Season 2 – Underground. Initially eliminated in a maze challenge (Quest 2), he was pulled back into the competition via team selection by Jung Ji‑hyun during Quest 2.5. From there, he surged to the final showdown, defeating Hong Beom‑seok and emerging as the champion—claiming a prize of 300 million won (~$240,000).

Reflecting on his victory, Amotti spoke with humility and gratitude: “I wondered if exercising was right, but I have faith in myself,” and described the path as “meaningful,” balanced with moments of self-doubt. He credited the competition’s camaraderie and challenged himself further—grateful for the experience and the strong bonds forged along the way.

New Chapter: Entertainment & Modeling

Following his win, Amotti signed with HQ ENT, the agency representing celebrities such as Choo Sung‑hoon and Kim Dong‑hyun. This move launched his career beyond fitness, positioning him for broader visibility in entertainment, sports broadcasting, and public appearances
